If the cart clicks but will not move, or does not click at all, the solenoid is one of the first parts to test. A 36V solenoid belongs on a 36V cart only; 48-volt carts have their own department.

Frequently asked questions

My cart clicks but will not move — is it the solenoid?

A click shows the coil is pulling in. If there is no voltage on the output side of the large terminals with the pedal down, the contacts are burnt and the solenoid needs replacing. No click at all can be the coil, the micro switch or the key and forward/reverse circuit.

What does 70 series mean?

It is the common description of the 4-terminal 36V solenoid used on many EZGO electric carts. Some kits add the resistor and diode fitted across its terminals.
