Winter Golf Cart Upgrades
A golf cart is a three-season vehicle until you prepare it for cold weather. The upgrades below are listed in the order most owners buy them: first stop the wind, then add heat, then look after the cart while it is parked. Every department is organised by make and model, so match your cart before you order. Not sure which model you have? Use the Club Car serial number lookup or the golf cart parts hub.

In what order to buy
- Measure before you order the enclosure. Roof length and seat count decide the size; the sizing chart shows how to measure.
- Add a windshield if the cart does not have one, and check whether the enclosure you choose is made for a cart with or without one.
- Choose a heater that suits how you drive: propane for maximum heat with panels partly open, or electric matched to your 36V or 48V pack.
- Finish with comfort and care: a seat blanket for the ride, a storage cover and a charger plan for the weeks it sits.
For the golfer
Winter is also when golfers practise indoors and dress for the cold: see thermal golf apparel (164) and indoor golf practice (157). Shopping for someone else? Try golf gifts under $50 or golf gifts under $100.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most useful winter upgrade for a golf cart?
An enclosure, because it stops wind and rain while you drive. A windshield and a heater make the biggest difference after that.
Which heater should I buy for an enclosed cart?
Read the heater manual first. Some propane cup-holder heaters are rated for outdoor use only; electric heaters must match your 36V or 48V pack.
How do I choose the right enclosure size?
Measure the roof front to back along its centre line and count the seats. Our enclosure sizing chart lists common roof sizes by model.
Do I need a storage cover if the cart is in a garage?
It still helps: a cover keeps dust and rodents off the seats and dash while the cart sits for weeks.
