Buy the harness kit rather than assembling lamps piecemeal. The harness is what makes the signals, brake lights and horn work together, and it is the part that takes the longest to retrofit if you skip it.
Order of work
- Fit the deluxe light kit with harness and voltage reducer.
- Add mirrors — clamp-on side mirrors and a panoramic rear mirror need no drilling.
- Fit seat belts. This usually needs a bracket kit specific to your model.
- Add a windshield if your state requires one.
- Apply reflectors.
- Check the speed requirement and whether your controller meets it.
- Then register — with photos of the fitted equipment.
