CartClan EZGO Steering Gear Box Upgrade

Designed for classic EZGO TXT and Medalist carts from mid 1990s to early 2000s, the CartClan EZGO Steering Gear Box Assembly offers a targeted replacement option for aging steering components. This upgrade focuses on restoring a confident, centered feel without altering other systems, making it a practical option for daily errands, golf rounds, and neighborhood cruises.

With a focus on real world usability, this steering box is built to meet the demands of both gas and electric EZGO models. The result is a component that helps you navigate turns with more predictable feedback, especially when traversing uneven ground or long runs on your course or driveway.

Why upgrade this steering box

  • Compatibility with 1994.6-2001 EZGO TXT and Medalist models, covering both gas and electric configurations.
  • Potential for improved steering stability, reducing unsteady feel and off center drift over time.
  • Durable steel construction designed to endure regular on course and urban use while preserving steering integrity.
  • Includes one steering gear box and references OEM numbers 70314-G01, 70314-G02, 70723-G02, 70147-G02 for easy cross-checks.
  • Important note: verify fitment before purchasing to ensure a proper match with your cart’s specifications.

What you get and how it may help

Replacing the worn steering gear box can help restore a more balanced response when turning, particularly at higher speeds or on rough surfaces. The robust steel build supports steady handling, which some users may notice during long golf cart rides or shuttle runs. While individual results vary, the upgrade opens possibilities for smoother, more controlled steering without requiring other modifications.

  • Key benefits you might experience include improved centering, steadier tracking, and a more predictable steering feel.
  • Preparation tips: confirm model compatibility and have basic hand tools ready to support a clean swap.

Installation and care tips

Before you start, double-check that the steering gear box matches your EZGO TXT or Medalist model and that the OEM part numbers align with the listed references. The swap is designed to be straightforward for those comfortable with standard golf cart maintenance. After installation, take a cautious test drive in a safe area to verify center alignment and steering response.
