Swap weights are how a modern driver or putter gets tuned without a new club. Adding mass in the heel promotes a draw, in the toe a fade; heavier overall raises MOI and slows tempo, lighter speeds it up. The catch is that every manufacturer uses its own screw thread and port shape, so a Ping weight will not thread into a TaylorMade head.

Fitment and sizing. Match the weight to your exact head model and check the gram value. Weights are sold individually and in sets; a torque wrench is usually required.

Frequently asked questions

Are golf club weights interchangeable between brands?

No. Thread pitch, port depth and head shape are manufacturer-specific. A weight listed for a Ping G430 will not fit a TaylorMade or Titleist head.

What does changing driver weight actually do?

Moving mass toward the heel encourages a draw, toward the toe a fade. Adding total weight raises stability and tends to slow swing speed slightly; removing it does the reverse.

Do I need a special wrench?

Most weights use a torque wrench specific to the brand. Overtightening strips the port, which is an expensive repair.
