Kits that replace the rear axle bearings and the oil seals that keep differential oil off the brakes. Two patterns cover most of the range: EZGO kits for Marathon, Medalist, TXT and RXV from 1978 on (cross-referenced to OEM 611931 and 15112-G1), and Club Car kits for DS and Precedent electric carts from 1986 to 2014, several of which add the axle bushing.
A leaking axle seal shows as oil on the inside of the rear wheel or brake drum. Oil-soaked brake shoes will not stop the cart properly, so replace the shoes too if they are contaminated. Complete axle shafts are in golf cart axles.
Look for oil on the inside of the rear tyre, the wheel rim or the brake drum, and weak or grabbing rear brakes. Pull the drum and check the shoes — if they are soaked, replace them along with the seal.
It is common practice. Bearings and seals on both sides have the same wear, and many kits here come as 2-packs so both sides can be done while the cart is up.
