The solenoid is the heavy relay that connects the pack to the motor. When it fails you get a click and no movement, or no click at all — one of the cheapest parts to replace on the whole cart. EZGO's aftermarket is the deepest in the industry, which is good news and a trap at the same time: TXT, RXV, Marathon and Medalist all share a name but not always a bolt pattern.

Fitment and sizing. EZGO serial numbers are on a plate under the glovebox or on the frame under the driver-side seat. RXV parts almost never fit TXT and vice versa. Solenoids are rated by voltage and terminal count. A 36V solenoid on a 48V pack will not last.

Frequently asked questions

My golf cart clicks but won't move — is it the solenoid?

A click means the solenoid coil is energising. If the cart still does not move, the contacts inside may be burnt, or the fault is downstream at the controller or motor.

Will TXT parts fit an EZGO RXV?

Usually not. The RXV uses a different rear axle, brake design and body mounting, so seat covers, enclosures, brakes and light kits are model-specific. Universal items like fans, mirrors and cup holders do cross over.
