Heavy-duty shocks are the standard fix for a cart that bottoms out with four passengers or carries a rear seat kit. Spring rate matters more than shock length for load carrying. Club Car has used several very different chassis over the years, so the single most useful thing you can do before ordering is identify your model and year.

Fitment and sizing. Serial number plate sits under the passenger-side dash or on the frame behind the driver-side rear wheel. The first two characters tell you the model year. Match shock length and eyelet type to your cart. Lifted carts need longer shocks than the stock item.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need heavy-duty shocks for a rear seat kit?

If you regularly carry rear passengers, yes. Stock shocks and springs are set for two people and a bag rack.

How do I tell a Club Car DS from a Precedent?

The DS has a squared-off body with a separate front bumper and exposed hardware. The Precedent has a smooth, rounded front cowl and integrated bumper. Parts are rarely interchangeable between the two.
