Forward-reverse switches, key switches and dash panels with USB and voltmeter displays are among the most-replaced electrical parts on an ageing cart, both because they wear and because the upgrades are cheap. The Precedent replaced the DS in 2004 and stayed in production for well over a decade, so it is the single most-supported Club Car platform in the aftermarket.

Fitment and sizing. Fits Club Car Precedent 2004 and up. Onward and Tempo share much of the same geometry, so many Precedent parts carry over — check the listing. Forward-reverse assemblies are model and drivetrain specific. Dash panels need a matching cut-out.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't my cart go in reverse?

A worn forward-reverse switch is the first thing to check, followed by the reverse buzzer circuit and the microswitch behind the handle.

Do Precedent parts fit Onward and Tempo carts?

Frequently yes. Onward and Tempo are built on Precedent geometry, so seat covers, floor mats and many brake and steering parts cross over. Body panels and light kits are the usual exceptions.
