Light kits range from a bare pair of headlamps to full street-legal packages with turn signals, brake lights, a horn and a wiring harness. If your goal is road use, the harness and switch matter more than the lamps. Club Car has used several very different chassis over the years, so the single most useful thing you can do before ordering is identify your model and year.

Fitment and sizing. Serial number plate sits under the passenger-side dash or on the frame behind the driver-side rear wheel. The first two characters tell you the model year. Most kits are 12V and need a voltage reducer on a 36V or 48V cart. Deluxe kits usually include one; basic kits often do not.

How do I tell a Club Car DS from a Precedent?

The DS has a squared-off body with a separate front bumper and exposed hardware. The Precedent has a smooth, rounded front cowl and integrated bumper. Parts are rarely interchangeable between the two.
