Replacement headlamps are usually a repair rather than an upgrade — factory sealed units cloud and crack with UV, and the LED replacements draw less current from the pack while throwing a cleaner beam. Club Car has used several very different chassis over the years, so the single most useful thing you can do before ordering is identify your model and year.

Fitment and sizing. Serial number plate sits under the passenger-side dash or on the frame behind the driver-side rear wheel. The first two characters tell you the model year. Most units are 12V and need a reducer on a 36V or 48V cart. Lamps are cut to a specific cowl opening, so match your model and year.

Are golf cart headlights universal?

The bulbs often are; the housings are not. Headlamp assemblies follow the cowl opening of one model, so a Precedent lamp will not sit in a DS cowl.

How do I tell a Club Car DS from a Precedent?

The DS has a squared-off body with a separate front bumper and exposed hardware. The Precedent has a smooth, rounded front cowl and integrated bumper. Parts are rarely interchangeable between the two.
