Wedge gapping is where most scoring is lost. Take your pitching wedge loft and step down in 4–6 degree increments; the bounce you need depends on your turf and how steeply you attack the ball.

Fitment and sizing. High bounce suits soft turf and steep swings; low bounce suits firm turf and shallow swings. Common lofts are 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58° and 60°.

Frequently asked questions

What wedge lofts should I carry?

Space them 4–6 degrees apart from your pitching wedge. A common set is 50°, 54° and 58°.

What does bounce mean on a wedge?

Bounce is the angle between the leading edge and the lowest point of the sole. More bounce stops the club digging in soft sand and turf.
