Light kits range from a bare pair of headlamps to full street-legal packages with turn signals, brake lights, a horn and a wiring harness. If your goal is road use, the harness and switch matter more than the lamps. EZGO's aftermarket is the deepest in the industry, which is good news and a trap at the same time: TXT, RXV, Marathon and Medalist all share a name but not always a bolt pattern.

Fitment and sizing. EZGO serial numbers are on a plate under the glovebox or on the frame under the driver-side seat. RXV parts almost never fit TXT and vice versa. Most kits are 12V and need a voltage reducer on a 36V or 48V cart. Deluxe kits usually include one; basic kits often do not.

Do I need a voltage reducer for a golf cart light kit?

If the kit is 12V and your cart runs 36V or 48V, yes. Deluxe harness kits generally include a reducer; check the parts list before ordering separately.

Will TXT parts fit an EZGO RXV?

Usually not. The RXV uses a different rear axle, brake design and body mounting, so seat covers, enclosures, brakes and light kits are model-specific. Universal items like fans, mirrors and cup holders do cross over.
