Golf cart keys are famously non-unique — most fleet carts of the same brand share a small number of key codes, which is why replacements are easy to source and why a keyless or coded switch is a genuine upgrade. EZGO's aftermarket is the deepest in the industry, which is good news and a trap at the same time: TXT, RXV, Marathon and Medalist all share a name but not always a bolt pattern.

Fitment and sizing. EZGO serial numbers are on a plate under the glovebox or on the frame under the driver-side seat. RXV parts almost never fit TXT and vice versa. Club Car uses 1A and 1B key codes on most DS and Precedent carts; EZGO and Yamaha have their own. Match the code stamped on your existing key.

Will TXT parts fit an EZGO RXV?

Usually not. The RXV uses a different rear axle, brake design and body mounting, so seat covers, enclosures, brakes and light kits are model-specific. Universal items like fans, mirrors and cup holders do cross over.
