Cart brakes are drum brakes on nearly every model, and the wear items are the shoes, the springs and the self-adjusting hardware. Kits that include the spring set save the usual second order. EZGO's aftermarket is the deepest in the industry, which is good news and a trap at the same time: TXT, RXV, Marathon and Medalist all share a name but not always a bolt pattern.

Fitment and sizing. EZGO serial numbers are on a plate under the glovebox or on the frame under the driver-side seat. RXV parts almost never fit TXT and vice versa. Brake hardware is year-specific — Club Car changed the DS brake design in 1995 and the RXV uses motor braking rather than a conventional drive-axle brake.

Longer stopping distances, a pedal that travels further before biting, or a scraping noise from the rear drums. Pull a drum and check the lining thickness.

Will TXT parts fit an EZGO RXV?

Usually not. The RXV uses a different rear axle, brake design and body mounting, so seat covers, enclosures, brakes and light kits are model-specific. Universal items like fans, mirrors and cup holders do cross over.
