Front wheel hubs carry the bearings that let the wheel turn, and they are a wear item on any cart that has covered real mileage. A hub that has started to rumble or has play at the 12-and-6 position is on borrowed time. Club Car has used several very different chassis over the years, so the single most useful thing you can do before ordering is identify your model and year.

Fitment and sizing. Serial number plate sits under the passenger-side dash or on the frame behind the driver-side rear wheel. The first two characters tell you the model year. Hub assemblies are sold per side or in pairs and are model-specific. Replace both sides — they have done the same hours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know a golf cart wheel hub is worn?

Jack the wheel, grip it at 12 and 6 o'clock and rock it. Any play means the bearing or hub is worn. A rumble that changes with speed is the other sign.

How do I tell a Club Car DS from a Precedent?

The DS has a squared-off body with a separate front bumper and exposed hardware. The Precedent has a smooth, rounded front cowl and integrated bumper. Parts are rarely interchangeable between the two.
