Charger compatibility comes down to three things: pack voltage, plug style and whether your cart uses an onboard computer. A 36V charger will not correctly service a 48V pack, and Club Car's Powerdrive, EZGO's D-style and Yamaha's receptacle are all different connectors. The Precedent replaced the DS in 2004 and stayed in production for well over a decade, so it is the single most-supported Club Car platform in the aftermarket.

Fitment and sizing. Fits Club Car Precedent 2004 and up. Onward and Tempo share much of the same geometry, so many Precedent parts carry over — check the listing. Match voltage and plug type to your cart. Note that some 48V carts use a 48V pack of six 8V batteries and others four 12V — the charger cares about total pack voltage, not battery count.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my cart is 36V or 48V?

Count the batteries and their voltage: six 6V batteries is 36V; six 8V or four 12V is 48V. The charger receptacle style is also model-specific.

Do Precedent parts fit Onward and Tempo carts?

Frequently yes. Onward and Tempo are built on Precedent geometry, so seat covers, floor mats and many brake and steering parts cross over. Body panels and light kits are the usual exceptions.
