The solenoid is the heavy relay that connects the pack to the motor. When it fails you get a click and no movement, or no click at all — one of the cheapest parts to replace on the whole cart. The DS ran from 1981 to 2013 and is still everywhere, which is why replacement parts for it are plentiful and cheap.

Fitment and sizing. Fits Club Car DS. Because the platform spanned 1981–2013, always match the year range printed in the listing — brake, electrical and body parts changed several times. Solenoids are rated by voltage and terminal count. A 36V solenoid on a 48V pack will not last.

Frequently asked questions

My golf cart clicks but won't move — is it the solenoid?

A click means the solenoid coil is energising. If the cart still does not move, the contacts inside may be burnt, or the fault is downstream at the controller or motor.

Are all Club Car DS parts the same from 1981 to 2013?

No. The DS went through several revisions — most notably around 1993 for body and lighting and 1995 for brakes. Match the year range in the listing to your serial plate.
