Replacement headlamps are usually a repair rather than an upgrade — factory sealed units cloud and crack with UV, and the LED replacements draw less current from the pack while throwing a cleaner beam. The DS ran from 1981 to 2013 and is still everywhere, which is why replacement parts for it are plentiful and cheap.

Are golf cart headlights universal?

The bulbs often are; the housings are not. Headlamp assemblies follow the cowl opening of one model, so a Precedent lamp will not sit in a DS cowl.

Are all Club Car DS parts the same from 1981 to 2013?

No. The DS went through several revisions — most notably around 1993 for body and lighting and 1995 for brakes. Match the year range in the listing to your serial plate.
