Overview

The Innova Mako 3 is a champion-material midrange disc designed to blend the steady control of a putter with the glide and speed you expect from a midrange. It excels at staying on a straight line from release to finish, helping you shape precise shots on tight lanes. With a weight range of 165–169 g, this disc balances feel and momentum for confident throws across a variety of throwing styles and course layouts.

Flight characteristics

  • Straight flight with a clean, predictable finish that helps you stay on target
  • Putter-like release feel combined with midrange glide for measured approach play
  • Angle-holding capability supports turning or riding lines as needed
  • Turnover stays turned and hyzer stays hyzer, enabling intentional shaping

How to use it on the course

Think of the Mako 3 as a trusted line-shaper for midrange and approach plays. Its forgiving release and controlled fade make it a solid choice when you want a steady, repeatable result—not a dramatic skip or drastic turn.

Ideal play scenarios

  • Narrow fairways where precision matters and space is limited
  • Forested routes that demand a careful, straight path through trees
  • Midrange approaches where a predictable glide helps you land softly on the target

Feel, durability, and construction

Constructed with durable Champion-like plastic, the Mako 3 holds its shape through rounds near rough edges and contact with trees. The grip offers a confident hold for controlled releases, while the overall feel aids accuracy without sacrificing speed.

Tips for best results

  • Grip the disc medium-firm for a smooth release in varied wind
  • Aim for a stable release angle to reduce drift on longer approaches
  • Use a lightly torqued throw on uphill plays to maintain line
  • Practice turnover and hyzer lines to maximize versatility on different holes
