Overview

Meet the Callaway 2023 Big Bertha Pitching Wedge, a left-handed option designed to blend forgiveness with distance. Built with AI-optimized geometry and premium materials like tungsten, this wedge aims to deliver confident approach shots around the green while maintaining a responsive feel at impact.

Designed for forgiveness and easy distance

The Big Bertha family is known for a generous profile and a confidence-inspiring silhouette. This pitching wedge emphasizes a forgiving face and stable flight, pairing consistent distance with smoother contact on off-center hits.

  • Easy-to-hit performance with strong ball speed
  • Enhanced forgiveness on mis-hits for steadier distance
  • Tungsten weighting for stable flight and reliable turf interaction

Materials and technology behind the performance

The wedge uses premium materials, including a graphite shaft for a lighter overall feel that can promote a smoother tempo. Tungsten weighting helps lower the center of gravity and refine launch characteristics, supporting cleaner contact and predictable trajectories.

  • Graphite shaft for lighter feel and potentially smoother swing
  • Tungsten weighting for stability and controlled flight
  • 42° loft for versatile approach shots and bunker-friendly play

Real-life on-course use

From tight lies to delicate chips and soft landings, this wedge is designed to support a range of greenside shots. The optimized sole and leading edge help the club glide through various turf conditions, giving you confidence in distance control and feathered touches.

Who should consider it

Ideal for players seeking an easy-to-hit wedge without sacrificing feel or distance. It suits golfers who want a light, graphite-shaft setup in a left-handed configuration and value a forgiving, confidence-inspiring design around the green.

Bottom line

While outcomes depend on individual swing, the 2023 Big Bertha Pitching Wedge offers a combination of forgiveness, distance potential, and feel that may suit a range of short-game situations on the course.
